FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (July 1, Winnipeg, MB)

In the Month of July , The Civility Center Reminds Us   – “CIVILITY IN GOVERNMENT IS IMPORTANT.  EACH OF US HAS THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS OUR INDIVIDUAL VALUES AND OPINIONS”

Internationally renowned as the “go to” organization for anything related to civility, The Civility Center, has created a monthly calendar that includes events, ideas, and inspiration from around the world.  The Civility Calendar is available free online with the objective of encouraging people to bring their most kind, most considerate, and most civil self to all their interactions.  Each month focuses on a different aspect of civility and its interaction with life, and July’s is : CIVILITY IN GOVERNMENT

Through Civil Discourse we increase the probability to understand and to be understood

-Kent Roberts, co-founder The Civility Center

The message is :  For many people, politics is almost automatically associated with incivility.  The overall tone of politics and the examples set by some of our political leaders impacts us all.  This month, we invite you to think about the need for civil interactions and communications in our political systems.  How can we achieve civility in politics?

Every month includes an affirmation, and for July, the mantra is : ” I acknowledge that each of us has the right to express our individual values and opinions. I choose to express myself in a restrained and respectful way, and I expect others to do the same.”
