Welcome to Texas Etiquette Academy & Finishing School! We offer Social and Life Skills training programs for children and youth ages 5-20, as well as social clubs, parties and events. Manners are so much more than knowing what fork to use!
The world can be a difficult place, but we know that teaching young people what the expected and respected behaviors are in social settings, and giving them the knowledge and skills they need to be socially competent, boosts their confidence, builds self-esteem, and helps them present themselves more positively. Our programs cover important and practical life and social skills topics that girls of all ages need to be their very best selves!

Texas Etiquette Academy & Finishing School
Whatever happened to manners?” This is a question Misty Harris finds herself asking daily. Whether it’s driving, dining, or dealing with others in public places, disrespect is everywhere. Having lived on two continents and serving as a military spouse for over 20 years, Misty has seen a lot of situations that could make your hair stand on end.
For the past 8 years, Misty – a Candidate for Master ICTC Certification, and her team at Texas Etiquette has been offering training and services to address the growing impacts of low social competence and rudeness that are prevalent in our homes, schools, communities and workplaces. With a focus on boosting Social Intelligence, participants in Misty’s adult programs learn to leverage interpersonal skills and lead by example.
Through its new division, Texas Etiquette Academy & Finishing School, Misty’s polished and experienced team offers classes, camps, individual coaching and Train the Trainer, to encourage and inspire children to build social skills that research suggests underpin success in life and work.
“You can be part of the problem, or you can be part of the solution,” states Misty, “and choosing civility is the easiest, and most effective solution for addressing the current civility crisis.”
A mother of five, Misty works hard to practice what she preaches. She calls on her educational background in children’s programming and women’s health, and her experience training as a midwife and advocating for children with arthritis, to support and endorse volunteerism and community service.
Etiquette Classes

The training we offer helps build character, confidence and courtesy. We don’t just teach the correct behavior, we explain “why” good behavior is necessary—and the consequences of bad manners. Etiquette classes offer learning strategies for coping with change and ensure your child’s social success.
Etiquette courses help develop social skills such as:
- Proper behaviour at home, at school or in public
- Showing respect for parents, elders or others
- Communication and coping skills to avoid tantrums and overcome shyness
- Sharing, empathy and helping others
- Finding worth and building self-esteem
- Choosing good role models and navigating difficult situations
- Establishing good habits: health, diet, exercise, hygiene
- Setting realistic goals and devising plans to achieve them
- Practical life skills such as: managing money, caring for their things; basic cooking

Texas Etiquette has been is transition and is so excited to be opening up a permanent location in the spring! We have narrowed down three key locations in Fort Worth and are making solid arrangements to comfortably work with you in the best possible way! 2016 is going to be a year of growth, personal improvement and ongoing social development for us all. Classes start in mid January and we are taking pre-registrations as of Dec 15th. Join us in the new year and begin the journey to a new you!
